Shop local this Cyber Monday
SALISBURY, Md. — Cyber Monday is here, and deals are sweeping the community. Local businesses in Salisbury are reminding shoppers to support small businesses.
But some are taking Cyber Monday to a new level with an app called Palm Street. Leann Marriner, owner of Delmarva Homegrown, said the store sells plants through live streams to customers across the U.S., but they especially love selling locally. Their sales extend throughout the week, with a big event planned for tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
“We’ll be shipping probably between 600 and 700 plants in the next two weeks,” Marriner said. “We’ve also started selling tissue cultures, which is something new that I know a lot of people haven’t heard of. It’s a way to get into the rare plant game without spending thousands of dollars.”
Delmarva Homegrown is one of the only local plant stores to sell tissue culture plants. Marriner added that many other local businesses also participate in the Palm Street app. On the app, there name is Plantabis.
