Salisbury Urban Ministries Lazarus food pantry to close for holidays

SALISBURY, Md. — The Salisbury Urban Ministries Lazarus food pantry will be closed from December 19 to January 7.

During this time, there are other community resources available for those seeking assistance. These include New Hope Baptist Church, Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene, Adopt-A-Block, The Salvation Army food pantry, and more.

If you are unable to find a pantry near you, you can use the Maryland Food Bank’s website to search for open pantries by entering your zip code, which will display options within a nearby radius.

Debbie Donaway, executive director of Salisbury Urban Ministries, said, “This was our last day and we will be closed from the 22nd through January 8th. We will reopen at 10:00 a.m. I know this makes a difference for our regular clients and neighbors, and for those who might be seeking food. However, there are still other resources available.”

Officials are thanking everyone who supports Lazarus, saying that donations help sustain the pantry’s operations throughout the rest of the year.
