One Mission Prepares for 1st Festival of Wreaths

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) -Members of One Mission Cambridge are busy getting Cambridge Wesleyan Church ready with wreaths of all shapes, and sizes as they prepare for their last big fundraiser for the year: Their first Festival of Wreaths.

“We’re so excited to show them off. I wish I could take credit for more. The one of them here, but no, they’re great. We’re very thankful for the people who went out of their way to donate wreaths for the event…” says One Mission Fundraiser, Rebekah Koston.

The wreaths were made by numerous members of the community and will be raffled off on Saturday to benefit One Mission.

One member of Cambridge Wesleyan Church says with what One Mission has been able to do in Cambridge since starting in 2022, an event like this feels like it brings all of the community together.

Barb Schneider with Cambridge Wesleyan Church tells WMDT, “We have, you know, quite a few of our church members as volunteers. And a couple of our church members are on the board. So we are really invested in this. And we think it’s very important for the community. So when we had the opportunity to host this here.”

That’s why One Mission wants everyone to come out to Cambridge Wesleyan Saturday as they close out the year with a festive bang.

Rebekah says, “Just like our mission center. We want to be a welcome space full of love. And we want to provide that at this event also. So we want everybody to feel welcome here. And just to come out and have a good time for a couple hours, we want to make sure anybody can come, take a picture with Santa Claus…”

The Festival of Wreaths is a free event, open to the public.

It runs from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. Sautrday, December 13th at 803 Race Street in Cambridge.
