Mardela girl’s basketball downs Parkside, continues strong start to season

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. – Mardela girl’s basketball took down the Parkside Rams 43-18 on Monday night in Mardela Springs.

The Warriors started the game with stout defense, holding the Rams scoreless in the first quarter for an 8-0 lead. Mardela led by as much as 13 in the first half, but the Parkside offense woke up in the second quarter, closing the gap to 17-12 at the break.

The Warriors pulled away in the second half, outscoring Parkside by 20 to win by a final score of 43-18, led offensively by Kayla Shaqfeh with 12 points on the night.

With the win, Mardela moves to 2-0 on the season.
