REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – A Milford man has been arrested after police say he broke into his former workplace.

At 10:11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, officers from the Rehoboth Beach Police Department responded to a business on the ocean block of Wilmington Avenue for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival on the scene, police contacted a cleaning crew on site. The crew confirmed that a former employee, identified as 38-year-old Donald Fulmore, had unlawfully entered the business. Business staff confirmed that Fulmore was not permitted on the premises.

Police say Fulmore attempted to steal alcohol from a locked cabinet. When confronted by the cleaning crew, he attempted to flee and fell down the stairs, and subsequently injured his head. The cleaning crew reportedly detained Fulmore until police arrived to the scene.

Fulmore was taken into custody by officers without further incident. He was taken to an area hospital where he was treated before being released to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $8,000 secured bail. Fulmore faces charges of third degree burglary and related charges.
