Low Credibility Bomb Threat Made Against Beebe Healthcare
LEWES, Del. – The Lewes Police Department (LPD) is investigating a bomb threat made against Bebee Healthcare on Thursday morning.
Police say that at 9:17 a.m. on Dec. 18, several employees of Beebe Healthcare received a “low credibility and non-specific bomb threat” via email. Staff immediately contacted LPD, who responded to several Beebe locations within the Lewes area. A K-9 unit from the Delaware River and Bay Authority Police searched the buildings before they were rendered safe.
In a statement posted to social media, the health organization said, “Beebe and law enforcement are taking this threat very seriously, and we will keep the community updated as the investigation continues. All Beebe locations remain open and ready to care for patients. The safety of our patients and team members is of the utmost importance.”
Authorities are investigating the situation, and say they are currently following multiple leads.
