Local Community Member spreads “Random Acts of Kindness”

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. –

She may not arrive in a sleigh with flying reindeer, but Pam Price has found her own way to spread holiday magic across Delmarva.

Sunday will mark the 12th year of Price’s “Random Acts of Kindness Day.” She and a team of volunteers travel across Wicomico and Sussex counties delivering presents and care packages to children, police officers, homeless shelters, and others. The effort does not stop there. The group also visits grocery stores and laundromats, paying for customers’ purchases to ease even small financial burdens.

Price’s home office has become her own version of the North Pole.

“Although it’s chaos, it’s so cool to me to have this much stuff to give back to the community,” she said.

This year, the effort expanded when the Area Agency on Aging’s MAC Center needed help providing gifts for seniors on the Lower Eastern Shore of Delmarva. After its usual gift provider dropped out, Price stepped in, creating 600 gift bags for the MAC Center to distribute.

Nick Cranford, Community Relations and Development Manager for the MAC Center, expressed his appreciation.

“Pam stepped up and has done a phenomenal job getting donations and items,” Cranford said. “We couldn’t do it without her.”

With Random Acts of Kindness Day approaching, Price and her team are preparing to once again make an impact. For Price, giving back is what drives her.

“You always plan to give, and you always get the best feeling when someone can never repay you,” she said.

Community members like Price show how far even small acts of kindness can go. Those interested in participating or donating for Random Acts of Kindness Day can contact Price or visit pampricecf.org.
