Juvenile Arrested Following Threats Made to Snow Hill High

SNOW HILL, Md. – The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has arrested a juvenile following text threats issued against Snow Hill High School (SHHS) on Friday morning.

At 10:23 a.m. on Dec. 19, school officials announced in a message posted to Facebook that SHHS was in a hold status, a non-emergency protocol that requires student and staff to reamin in their classrooms. The status was lifted less than 10 minutes later.

Shortly after, WCSO announced that they were working in collaboration with Worcester County Public Schools to investigate a “concerning message circulating among students.” As a precautionary measure, additional law enforcement units were requested to the school.

As of 10:59 a.m., a juvenile was taken into custody in connection with the threats. WCSO says the investigation remains ongoing; however, there is no current threat to students or staff at the school.
