Dover Man Arrested on Felony Gun Charge Following Traffic Stop
DOVER, Del. – The Delaware State Police arrested a Dover man on multiple charges after conducting a traffic stop on Friday night.
At 9:50 p.m. on Dec. 12, a trooper conducted a traffic stop on a gray Chevrolet Malibu, after observing it swerving on Route 13. The trooper spoke to the driver, identified as 42-year-old Donnel Eaddy, and noted multiple signs of impairment. Troopers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and attempted to take Eaddy into custody. Eaddy resisted arrest but was ultimately subdued after a taser deployment.
During an inventory search of the car, troopers found a multi-caliber rifle, magazines, and ammunition.
Eaddy was taken to Troop 9, where he was charged with possession of a firearm by someone previously convicted of a felony, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and failure to remain in a single lane. He was arraigned and released after posting a $2,650 secured bond.
