Denton Car Crash Leaves One Dead, One in Serious Condition
DENTON, Md. – The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is investigating a fatal crash that killed one and seriously injured another in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Around 2:00 a.m. on Dec. 7, deputies responded to Greensboro Road near Burrsville Road for a single-vehicle crash. Police say their preliminary investigation indicated that a 2014 Ford Focus was traveling southbound when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle entered the front yard of a residence. The vehicle overturned before striking a group of trees.
The driver of the vehicle, 44-year-old Michael Steinberg of Dunkirk, was transported by Caroline County EMS to Bayhealth Hospital in serious condition.
The passenger in the vehicle, identified as 39-year-old Robert Rowland Jr. of Church Hill, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
