Delaware State Police offer guidance for retrieving property left at Wilmington DMV
Wilmington, Del. — Delaware State Police on Tuesday urged people who left vehicles or personal belongings at the Wilmington Division of Motor Vehicles after a deadly shooting there to contact authorities to arrange retrieval of their property.
Police said items left at the DMV at 2230 Hessler Boulevard during the Dec. 23 incident can now be picked up, but owners must coordinate with law enforcement to ensure the process is safe and orderly. Those seeking to recover property are asked to contact Detective D. Grassi by email for further instructions.
Restrictions remain in place on parts of the scene while the investigation continues into the shooting that left a state trooper dead. Police thanked the public for their patience and cooperation.
The state’s Victim Services Unit is available around the clock to assist anyone affected by the episode.
