SALISBURY, Md. — Long lines and the smell of freshly baked cookies marked the grand opening of Crumbl Cookies on Friday, as the popular dessert chain officially opened its first location in Salisbury.

Community members lined up early to be among the first customers, reflecting strong excitement for the nationally known brand’s arrival on the Eastern Shore.

For owner Will Tinsmith, the opening carried personal significance. A Delmar native, Tinsmith said bringing Crumbl to the area has been a longtime goal, especially with family and friends now working at the store.

“I’m just excited because I grew up here locally in Delmar,” Tinsmith said. “We’ve got a lot of family members working here and a lot of friends as well. I’ve been excited to bring this to the community for quite some time.”

Some customers arrived hours before opening. Joshua Legend, one of the first in line, said he arrived around 3:30 a.m.

“I was very excited to get Crumbl and be first in line,” Legend said.

Others said the new business adds energy to the local economy. Kyle McIntyre said Salisbury has been waiting for more attractions like Crumbl.

“We need more places like this to bring things back to life a little bit,” McIntyre said.

For families like Ethan Miller’s, the Salisbury location eliminates the need to travel across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to visit the chain.

“I’ve been a fan of Crumbl for years,” Miller said. “Me and my family have been going across the bridge anytime we can. They’ve got great cookies.”

Company leaders say the focus goes beyond cookies.

“I think we just sell happiness,” Tinsmith said. “It’s always great to have a brand in the community that gives people the opportunity to experience that.”

Crumbl Cookies is known for its rotating weekly menu of cookie flavors. Store hours and weekly offerings are available online.
