Celebrating safely with ride vouchers

DELAWARE — The Delaware Office of Highway Safety is offering ride vouchers this New Year’s Eve.

Through partner agencies, the office is providing $20 vouchers for Uber and Lyft starting at 3 p.m. on Dec. 31. The vouchers will be active from 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 until 3 a.m. on Jan. 1. Delaware highway safety officials said holiday crash statistics were staggering between 2020 and 2024.

Caitlin Reed, community relations officer with the Delaware Office of Highway Safety, said, “Delaware saw 310 impaired driving crashes and 17 impaired driving-related fatal crashes. These numbers show exactly why programs like this are so important, because one crash is one crash too many. We’re providing an opportunity for people to use our program to get home safely.”

Vouchers will be dropped at intervals, so check the page intermittently throughout the evening for the deal.
