Cambridge PD Investigating Shooting; One Injured

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Cambridge Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a 21-year-old man on Tuesday.

At 9:07 p.m. on Dec. 9, police responded to the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert along with 911 calls. Officers arrived on the scene and reported observing several subjects leaving the area. They were advised that one subject had been shot and was taken to the emergency room by vehicle. The police department says they were able to obtain evidence at the scene.

Officers subsequently responded to the emergency room and contacted the victim, identified as Timmy L. Fletcher Jr. of Cambridge. He sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police say Fletcher has given very little information as of this time; however, surveillance footage is assisting detectives in locating suspects and determining what took place.
