Bridgeville Man Arrested for DUI, Drug Charges
FRANKFORD, Del. – The Delaware State Police have arrested a man from Bridgeville on driving under the influence (DUI) and drug charges after conducting a traffic stop on Thursday afternoon.
At 3:20 p.m. on Dec. 18, a trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that almost struck oncoming traffic after failing to stay in its lane. While speaking with the driver, identified as 24-year-old Marcus Massey Jr., the trooper observed signs of impairment and administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests. A subsequent search of Massey Jr. revealed approximately 4.29 grams of heroin concealed on his person. Additionally, a computer search revealed that he had three prior DUI convictions.
Massey Jr. was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 4. He was charged with a fourth DUI offense, possession of a tier two controlled dangerous substance with intent to deliver, and related traffic offenses. He was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $11,503 secured bond.
