Body of missing Chesapeake Beach boater recovered
TAYLORS ISLAND, Md. – The Maryland Natural Resources Police said it has ended the search for a missing Chesapeake Beach boater after his body was located Thursday afternoon near Taylors Island.
65-year-old Lonnie James Johnson’s vessel was found unmanned back on November 14th in the area of Taylors Island in Dorchester County after he left Chesapeake Beach to go fishing a day earlier.
Officers responded the northwest shoreline of Taylors Island around 12:30 on December 4 when NRP aviators spotted his body while conducting searches.
Multiple agencies helped with the 21 day search for Johnson.
