Baywater Animal Rescue Looks Back on 2025

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The Baywater Animal Rescue is celebrating a successful 2025 as the year winds down.

The group said it has helped nearly 500 animals find their forever homes throughout the year.
Executive Director Steffanie Malkus says that helping those animals is only one side of the story.

They’ve heard throughout the year from the families who have adopted these animals, and how that has impacted them in a positive way.

“But we get stories all the time about, oh how this animal helped me, you know, brought happiness and joy back into my life. So it really is a symbiotic, reciprocal relationship. And it’s just such a happy thing. It’s such a privilege to see it every,” says Steffanie.

Malkus also says if they count animals they’ve helped through transfers and fosters, the number of animals helped this year is over a thousand.
