Active Duty Military to recieve “Warrior Dividend” this holiday

SALISBURY, Md. — President Donald Trump announced earlier this week a one-time bonus for U.S. service members, called the “warrior dividend.”

The dividend will provide active-duty personnel with $1,776. About 1.45 million service members are expected to receive the bonus, which is tax-free, as it is considered part of a “housing payment” benefit.

Chris Hardy, a local veteran, shared his thoughts on the bonus.

“Well deserved, you know. God bless them. They’re underpaid already. So, for what they do and everything they go through, the sacrifices they make, I think that’s awesome. Especially after the government shutdown and stuff. The military family was struggling. That’s awesome,” Hardy said.

U.S. service members are expected to receive their “warrior dividend” before Christmas.
