SALISBURY, Md. – The Wild Vibes Festival is returning to the Salisbury Zoo, this Saturday!

This 21-and-older fundraising event is one of the zoo’s most anticipated celebrations, combining the energy of live music with the laid-back charm of the Salisbury community. All proceeds from this year’s festival will go towards supporting the zoo’s new coati habitat. The festival is expanding to include two live music stages featuring local and regional performers throughout the afternoon. You can catch Cody Tyler and Gypsy Convoy, as well as The Leroy Burks Band at Holly Circle Stage. Bryan & The Barn Owls and Carley Twigg will be playing at the Pavilion.

Guests can enjoy craft beer and wine sampling, food from local trucks, and unique vendors, all while exploring the zoo’s natural setting and seeing some of your favorite animals. Animal-themed games and activities will also be featured to keep the spirit of the zoo at the heart of the event.

“I am very excited about the Wild Vibes Festival,” said Mayor Randy Taylor. “The zoo has undergone a tremendous number of improvements — and in my opinion, it has never looked better. Wild Vibes is a great event and a perfect time to enjoy one of Salisbury’s greatest assets. Come on out and join us.”

The event runs from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 15. Tickets are available for purchase here. Day-of passes may be available if capacity allows. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 16.

As we look ahead to next week, the City of Salisbury is preparing their tree lighting ceremony in the Downtown area. The lighting is a part of Salisbury’s Light Up The Holidays themed 3rd Friday, scheduled for Nov. 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This month’s event will feature festive entertainment, seasonal activities, and opportunities to shop local, making it the perfect way to begin the holiday celebrations. Unity Square will serve as the centerpiece of the evening, with live music by Such Fools playing from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Families are encouraged to stop by for photos with Santa, and to gather for the Tree Lighting Ceremony – complete with snow – scheduled for 6:30 p.m. On East Main Street, attendees will find a family-friendly activity area featuring a Craft Booth hosted by The Night Watch Child Care and a Santa Paws Photo Booth presented by K9 Heeling, offering a festive photo opportunity for pets and their owners.

Finally, there is always time to thank a service member! The U.S. Marine Corps turned 250 years old on Monday, Veterans Day was Tuesday, and many recognition ceremonies across the peninsula are scheduled for the weekend. To all those who have served and their families—we appreciate you. From the City of Salisbury and WMDT: Thank you!
