WiHi doubles up Gwynn Park to reach 2A quarterfinals

SALISBURY, Md. – Wi-Hi beat the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets 52-26 at County Stadium in Salisbury Friday night.

It was a low-scoring first quarter, with the only points for either team coming on a Jamareon Stevens catch and run for a touchdown. Gwynn Park answered with a scoring drive to start the second quarter, but failed to convert the two-point attempt. The Tribe finished the half with three more long touchdowns through the air from Landon Roache, with two more going to Stevens and one to Aaron Sadberry.

Wi-Hi was able to close out the 2nd half in convincing fashion, earning the program’s first state quarterfinal appearance since 2002.

The Tribe will play Winters Mill at County Stadium in Salisbury on Friday, November 21 at 6:30 p.m.
