Wicomico County CIP Hearing

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. — Wicomico County officials are seeking public input on how to allocate funds for upcoming projects.

On Wednesday night, County Executive Julie Giordano held a hearing to discuss several initiatives, including the Wicomico County library at Schumaker Pond, a new facility for Fruitland Primary School, and projects at Connelly Mill and Mason-Dixon.

Giordano emphasized the importance of the Fruitland Primary project. “When people see what we’ve put into this plan and like I said, people have to remember it’s just a plan. It helps us form the budget. The budget is really the money allocation part. I think they’ll be happy because we’ve tried to balance resources across libraries, schools, and parks,” she said.

As for the Fruitland Primary School project, the county is expected to spend $15 million next year, with $14 million of that coming from the state of Maryland.
