UPDATE: 19-Year-Old Identified in Clayton Pedestrian Crash

UPDATE: Delaware State Police have identified 19-year-old Henry Byler of Clayton, as the man who died in the fatal pedestrian crash on Tuesday.

This crash remains under investigation.

 

CLAYTON, Del. – The Delaware State Police are investigating a pedestrian crash that killed a 19-year-old on Tuesday morning.

At 10:20 a.m. on Nov. 18, a pedestrian was walking with his bicycle in he shoulder of Wheatley’s Pond Road, near Bryn Zion Road. Simultaneously, a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on the same road. A preliminary investigation revealed that the Silverado exited the southbound lane of travel and subsequently struck the pedestrian within the shoulder.

The pedestrian, a 19-year-old man from Clayton, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

The driver of the Silverado, a 64-year-old man from Smyrna, was not injured.
