Three Juveniles Charged for False 911 Report

TRAPPE, Md. – The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) has charged three juveniles in connection with a false 911 call made on Sunday afternoon.

Around 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 9, TCSO deputies responded to the 4300 block of Lover’s Lane following a 911 call reporting a shooting in the area.

Deputies conducted a thorough search and investigation of the residence, and determined the 911 call was a false report. The false report prompted an emergency response involving multiple agencies including TCSO, Maryland State Police, the Talbot County Department of Emergency Services and the Trappe Volunteer Fire Department. Authorities say the nature of this call initiated an urgent response from emergency personnel, placing all responders in a hazardous position.

Through investigative efforts, deputies identified three juveniles being responsible for making the false 911 call. The juveniles have been charged with filing a false police report, misuse of 911, reckless endangerment, and other related offenses.
