Shop small Saturday in Salisbury!

SALISBURY, Md. — The City of Salisbury is hosting “Shop Small Saturday” this weekend.

The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m., just before the Jingle Jubilee. Activities will include free horse-and-carriage rides, live music by Bay Brass, and a visit from Santa, who will make stops at downtown stores throughout the afternoon. Attendees can also vote for their favorite window display downtown. WMDT is participating in the contest, and voters will be entered to win one of two Salisbury prize packs. City officials called the event an important opportunity to support local businesses.

Derek Jarmon, economic development manager for the City of Salisbury, emphasized the importance of community support for local businesses.

“They support us year in and year out,” Jarmon said. “When you think about initiatives like ‘Wicomico Goes Purple’ or ‘Women Supporting Women,’ our downtown businesses always flock to support those entities and organizations.”

Special deals may also be available as Black Friday sales extend into the weekend.
