Seaford PD Arrest Woman on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop
SEAFORD, Del. – The Seaford Police Department arrested a woman after a traffic stop conducted on Saturday afternoon.
At 12:03 p.m. on Nov. 22, an officer observed 32-year-old Miya Newcomb operating a vehicle in the area of Clarence Street and North Street before pulling her over to conduct a traffic stop. During the stop, he confirmed that Newcomb’s licence was suspended.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed an assortment of controlled substances and a significant amount of cash.
Newcomb was arrested and charged with seven counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of drug paraphernalia, and possession with an intent to distribute, along with several traffic offences. Due to the presence of a child in the vehicle at the time of the stop, Newcomb was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Newcomb was committed to the Department of Corrections on a $3,000 violation of probation and issued a $12,802 secured bail for the new charges.
