SBY Airport asks Travelers to Plan Ahead
SALISBURY, Md. – Amid new mandates from the Federal Aviation Association (FAA), directing airlines to cut 10 percent of flights across major airports, the SBY Regional Airport is advising local travelers to plan ahead.
Travelers are instructed to check with their airline for flight cancellations before heading to the airport. All three direct and connecting destinations from SBY Airport appear on the federal government’s list of airports required to reduce air traffic.
The reduction in nationwide flights is a safety measure, implemented by the Trump Administration, during the current government shutdown.
“Flight status is always subject to change,” says Tony Rudy, Airport Director, “It’s best to use your airline’s smartphone app or website to obtain the most up-to-date flight information.”
SBY Management adds that airlines still have strict cut-off times regarding baggage check-in and final boarding. Fliers should arrive to the airport early to avoid such issues affecting their travel.
A temporary website is available to check on commercial flights in and out of Salisbury. You can find it here.
