Ocean City Police are asking for toy donations to benefit Worcester Gold

OCEAN CITY, Md. – With the holiday season quickly approaching, the Ocean City Police Department has begun its annual toy drive.

The department is calling for community members to send donations that directly benefit Worcester County GOLD.

They will be collecting new, unwrapped toys, and others for families to be a beacon of hope for families.

The toy drive will impact more than 500 individuals across Worcester County.

Ashley Miller of the Ocean City Police Department says its about supporting those in need.

“The Ocean City Police Department, one of the things we pride ourself on, is community policing. Most people think law enforcement is pulling over the cars, and handing out tickets, but thats not what policing is about, it connecting with our community.”

Organizers are asking that the toys be valued at $40 or less.

That means no jewelry, bicycles, or electronics.
