Man Arrested after Shooting Gun Near Crowd
DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department has arrested a man on multiple gun charges following a shots fired complaint that took place in the early hours of Sunday morning.
At 1:17 a.m. on Nov. 23, officers responded to a shots fired complaint at the 100 block of West Loockerman Street.
Upon arrival on the scene, police found that 36-year-old Anthony Simpson discharged a firearm in front of a crowd and before leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers determined that Simpson fled to an apartment in the 400 block of South New Street. Simpson was taken into custody without incident.
Police recovered a firearm believed to be used in the incident from Simpson. It was determined that the firearm was reported stolen.
Simpson was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on $24,650 secured bail on charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, discharging a firearm within city limits, and other related gun charges.
