It’s a winter wonderland in Rehoboth Beach!

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — Tanger Outlets is kicking off the holiday season tonight with its annual Christmas tree lighting in Rehoboth Beach, one of the first on the Peninsula. Employees say they’re excited to share the festive spirit with the community.

Sarah, assistant manager at Rocket Fizz, said, “I was just talking with my mom this morning about the schedule of events. She’s coming for the tree lighting. I just love the magic of Christmas — the lights and all the prettiness.”

She’s not the only one ready for the season.

Hanahsin Henry, assistant manager at Hey Dude, shared, “I’m very excited for the lights. I love Christmas lights, so I can’t wait to see it and be a part of it. I’m just a Christmas person overall, so I’m excited for it all.”

Michele Doucette, marketing director at Tanger Outlets, said this year’s tree lighting is bigger and better than it has been in 20 years.

“It’s a staple event here in our community,” Doucette said. “It just warms my heart every year when we get to see the magic come alive, especially through the eyes of the kids.”

Doucette added that the event is a way to give back to the community, with special guests, games, and treats for all ages.

“Mrs. Claus has a magic show up her sleeve, and I heard Santa may be doing some elf-related activities. You could even get an elf name tonight!”

A highlight of the event: a child will have the opportunity to help light the big tree during the countdown with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Sarah, reflecting on her favorite moment of the evening, said, “Honestly, just that little moment when the lights go on. I love that magical effect.”

For those getting an early start on holiday shopping, Tanger Outlets will also feature early Black Friday deals, known as Tanger Deal Days.
