Milford High

MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department responded to Milford High School (MHS) and Milford Central Academy (MCA) on Monday morning following the report of a bomb threat.

The Milford School District sent a message to parents at 9:13 a.m., alerting MHS and MCA families that an anonymous bomb threat had issued against the secondary campus. Students were subsequently being evacuated.

Milford Police confirmed on social media at 9:41 a.m. that both schools had been evacuated and all students are safe at this time. Authorities are actively working to clear the school buildings and ensure that the environment is secure.

The school district sent a second update to families at 9:50 a.m., indicating that students had been evacuated to Benjamin Banneker Elementary School and Milford Movies 9/Unified Church Campus.

School officials say that students will return to their campuses once the buildings are cleared. If parents would like to pick up students, they are able to do so at the reunification points.

WMDT will continue to cover this story as updates are provided.
