Deputies Respond to Cambridge-South Dorchester High following Multiple Altercations

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) responded to Cambridge-South Dorchester High School yesterday afternoon following reports of multiple altercations involving students on the campus.

At 12:10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, the school resource deputy assigned to the school requested additional support after multiple, unrelated student altercations occurred within a short time frame in different areas of the building.

A preliminary investigation by authorities found that one of the incidents involved a student assaulting another student during class.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported one student to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the student responsible for the assault was taken into custody, processed in accordance with juvenile procedures, and released to a parent.
