Concerned community members establish Wicomico County Tenants’ Association
SALISBURY, Md. – Residents at Pemberton Manor apartments in Salisbury are still demanding change at the complex. Several local leaders came together to establish the Wicomico County Tenants Association, a group that advocates for tenants’ rights in the community.
Wicomico County resident and outspoken advocate, Demetria Marshall Leonard founded the association. She hopes it will prompt management to take a closer look at the pest and safety issues on the property.
“These landlords have to be held accountable for their actions– they have to be held accountable for how they treat their tenants here. It is just the worst,” said Leonard.
In a statement to WMDT, Pemberton Manor officials said their staff, “works with residents who report in-unit problems”, and they follow up, “after they have been treated.”
