Bridgeville Man Arrested for Felony Firearms Offesnses

BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – The Delaware State Police (DSP) have arrested a man from Bridgeville on felony firearms offenses.

On Nov. 6, members of the DSP Firearms Transaction and Purchasing Unit and the DSP Special Operations Response Team, responded to a residence on the 11000 block of Silent Hill Road. This followed an investigation of 55-year-old Richard Banks, for the possession of firearms or ammunition as a person prohibited. Detectives contacted Banks, who was in possession of a concealed handgun while trespassing on an adjacent property. He was taken into custody without incident.

A consent search of the residence led to the discovery of three handguns, four rifles, three shotguns, and assorted ammunition.

Banks, a previously convicted felon, was arrested and taken to Troop 4. He was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and other related gun charges. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $86,001 secured bond.
