Women Supporting Women hosts breast cancer walk
SALISBURY, Md. — The local nonprofit organization Women Supporting Women is hosting its annual Walk for Awareness this Saturday, Oct. 11.
The walk will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Centre at Salisbury. Proceeds will support the organization’s mission to help those affected by breast cancer and fund an upcoming breast cancer conference.
Executive Director Jocelyn Feist says the walk is a great way for those who have lost someone to breast cancer to honor their loved ones.
“It’s a great way to show support in memory of anyone we’ve lost along the way and honor those who are fighting this battle. We actually have a free breast cancer conference coming up in November, so this event will help with that,” Feist said.
Those interested in participating can register at this link or on the day of the walk. Registration is $30 per person and $5 per furry friend.
The Salisbury-based grassroots nonprofit Women Supporting Women was founded by three local women more than 30 years ago. Today, the organization continues its mission of providing awareness, education, and support to those affected by breast cancer.
