Tyler Mailloux denied parole after hit-and-run of Gavin Knupp in 2022

BERLIN, Md. – The man convicted of leaving the scene of an accident in which Gavin Knupp was killed in 2022 had a parole hearing in Worcester County this morning.

Tyler Mailloux pleaded guilty to leaving the hit-and-run scene, while reasonably knowing the accident could result in death.

His sentence was 10 years, but only 18 months were active.

He was eligible for parole after serving for half a year. He was denied parole at the hearing and may now serve the remaining 12 months in jail.

On release, he’ll get 3 years of supervised probation and take a driver improvement program. Plus, complete 400 hours of community service.
