TidalHealth hosts Pink Ribbon Walk

SEAFORD, Del. — TidalHealth hosted its annual Pink Ribbon Walk in Seaford on Monday. The walk was held in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Survivors, clinicians, and advocates gathered at TidalHealth’s Allen Cancer Center in Seaford before traveling to Gateway Park in the downtown area.

TidalHealth hosts the event every year to spread awareness, support those currently batting the disease, and celebrate survivors. This year, survivor Erin Murphy spoke at the event and shared her experience, according to TidalHealth licensed clinical social worker Meredith Phillips-Woodard.

“She shared how through adversity she still has come out on the other side, how her caregiver was so supportive, how the support of others brings you out on the other side, and to not give up. She was sharing really to be hopeful,” Phillips-Woodard said.

The earliest signs of breast cancer are detectable on a mammogram, so don’t skip your yearly exams. When detected early – the survival rate is 99 percent.
