Sunfest Returns for 50th Year this Weekend

OCEAN CITY, Md. –  Ocean City’s annual Sunfest is returning for its 50th year, with the event running from Thursday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 26.

Sunfest has grown into one of the Delmarva’s most popular festivals, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

“Celebrating 50 years of Sunfest is a remarkable milestone for Ocean City,” said Mayor Rick Meehan. “What began as a way to extend the summer season has become one of our most treasured traditions. Sunfest brings together residents, visitors, and generations of families who return year after year to experience the music, food, and fun that make Ocean City so special.”

Over the past five decades, Sunfest has showcased thousands of artists, musicians, and vendors who transform the Inlet Parking Lot into fully fledged festival grounds. This year, over 200 artisans will showcase their one-of-a-kind creations as nationally recognized performers headline the main stage. Family-friendly activities will include the Halloween Beach Maze, Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade, Great Pumpkin Race, bonfires on the beach, and the high-flying Delmarva Dock Dogs.

The City recommends visitors take advantage of the Town’s Park and Ride services, as parking is restricted at the festival grounds. The West Ocean City Park and Ride on Route 50 provides a convenient location for attendees with free parking and shuttle service to and from the South Transit Center on South Division Street, just one block from Sunfest. Shuttle service is four dollars to ride all day.
