Stephen Decatur field hockey rolls past Pocomoke
POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Stephen Decatur field hockey beat Pocomoke 4-1 in Pocomoke City on Thursday night.
The game was scoreless into the second quarter, until Stephen Decatur’s Maggie Tucker broke the ice to put the Seahawks up with 13 minutes to play in the half. Pocomoke responded quickly, with Natalie Norfolk finding the back of the net just seven minutes later. From there, the flood gates opened and Decatur netted two more goals thanks to Bailey Griffin and Tucker scoring her second, giving the Seahawks a 3-1 lead at half.
The only scoring of the second half came from the road team, with Decatur’s Jill Burton extending their lead to 4-1 with 4 minutes to play in the game.
Stephen Decatur moves to 8-3 on the season after winning the final game of their regular season schedule.
Pocomoke will play at North Caroline on Monday, October 20 at 4 p.m. in their regular season finale.
