Seahawks field hockey storms past Arundel in regional semifinal
BERLIN, Md. – Stephen Decatur field hockey beat Arundel 4-0 on Thursday night in Berlin in the 3A East II Region Seminfinal.
Bailey Griffin broke the ice in the first quarter, scoring an unassisted goal with just under four minutes to pay in the period.
The Seahawks expanded their lead to 2-0 in the second quarter with a goal from Skylar Price on a deflection on a ball sent to the net by Morgan Michalski.
The score remained 2-0 until the fourth quarter, when Michalski found time and room and scorched one into the goal off a defender’s stick. The final tally came on another Skylar Price deflection, assisted by Jill Burton to make it 4-0.
The Seahawks will host South River in the 3A East II Region Final on Tuesday, October 28.
