Old Pro Golf on 28th street is demolishing iconic castle

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Old Pro Golf on 28th Street is getting rid of an iconic structure. The castle towers are being demolished, which marks the end of a chapter.

The castle had been around for over 50 years. The course is known for epic putts, daring dungeon shots, and flag-waving.

The hope from officials is that after the demolition, the legacy will continue to live on through its generations of success.

Old Pro’s Maintenance Superintendent John Leizer says this will be all for the best. He adds they have a huge surprise coming for the community.

“We decided it was time for a change, and the castle was the easiest thing to look at in replacing, and building something new and exciting,” said Leizer. “We will disclose on this in the near future.”
