SNOW HILL, Md. – The Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) successfully recovered two hunters who were lost in the Pocomoke Forest last Friday night.

The Maryland Department of Resources announced the operation on social media on Tuesday, uploading footage from the aviation unit that responded.

NRP officers responded to the forest after receiving a 911 call reporting a hunter lost, deep in the woods. A second individual, a friend trying to help, also became disoriented in the dense woodland.

NRP dispatched their aviation unit and utilized infrared cameras and night vision technology to quickly locate the hunters. The crew then reportedly used a searchlight to guide ground officers to their exact location.

Both hunters emerged from the forest safely and uninjured.
