Maryland STEM festival comes to Lower Shore
SALISBURY, Md. — The Lower Shore STEM Festival kicks off this weekend at Salisbury University. The inaugural event will take place this Saturday, Oct. 18.
There will be plenty of opportunities for people of all ages to explore the wonders of STEM through hands-on exhibits and activities. The event is free and part of the month-long Maryland STEM Festival, which will host events throughout the state until Nov. 16, according to founder Phil Rogofsky.
“We have about 15 to 20 booths on a variety of STEM topics — from drones to engineering to oceanography. All sorts of different areas of STEM. We hope families will come by and that kids will learn more about STEM,” Rogofsky said.
Visitors will have the chance to meet former astronaut Don Thomas and one of WMDT’s meteorologists.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Henson Hall on Salisbury University’s campus.
