Laurel mother continues to advocate against gun violence with neighborhood walks

LAUREL, Del. – A local woman continues to celebrate the life of her son, who lost his life to gun violence.

Her 18-year-old boy, Kylee Robinson, was gunned down on October 29th, 2023 – in broad daylight.  The shooting took place on West 7th Laurel Street, as Kylee was standing on the porch of a home.

His mother, Danielle Stevens, continues to celebrate his life with neighborhood walks. She shares a pivotal message that these walks remember her son but also help deter gun violence from the area.

“The reason I started the walk last year was to honor and keep the memory of my son’s name alive. In doing so, I thought a walk was necessary, because it not only brings remembrance to my son’s name, but also honors people who have been a victim to gun violence.”

The walk takes place Sunday, October 26th, at Roger C. Fisher Park.

It’ll happen on West 6th Street, and it starts at 11:30 a.m.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and an award is still being offered in the case.

If you have or know any information or tips, submit them to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
