Hauntingly Good Times at TidalHealth Trunk-or-Treats

SALISBURY, Md. – In this week’s Health Beat, brought to you by TidalHealth, WMDT spoke TidalHealth to learn about their upcoming Trunk-or-Treats.

Dee Copeland is clinical supervisor for the Behavioral Health team in the emergency department at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. She also happens to be the coordinator for this year’s Trunk-or-Treats.

Salisbury’s TidalHealth Trunk-or-Treat will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30.

“We’re super excited for this event and it’s going to be held right here in Salisbury on the campus of TidalHealth and our gravel lot,” said Copeland. “And that’s going to be located on the corner of Waverly Drive and Vine Street.”

Another Trunk-or-Treat will be held in Crisfield on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at TidalHealth Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation in Chesapeake Cove. And a third will be held in Seaford on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at TidalHealth Mears Campus.

The festivities are far greater than just trick-or-treating from cars; Copeland tells us what attendees can expect on Oct. 30 in Salisbury.

“There’s everything from Harry Potter themes to Care bear to Disney themes, freshly newly decorated trunks, [and] tons and tons of chocolate candy! There’s also going to be entertainment that night. So we have Feet of Fire, we have the Heart & Sole Steppers, which is a dance step squad local to Wicomico County.”

Food will be provided at the event, with pizza coming from Pat’s Pizzeria, beverages coming from Wild Fins, and ice cream for dessert. Sherman the Shorebird is even planning to make an appearance. Copeland also teased a big surprise planned for the end of the evening.

“There’s a special surprise for the finale. And so I’m going to hold that. You got to come out to see what the finale is.”

The event is not only a load of fun for families, but it’s also an opportunity for TidalHealth to connect with the community outside of clinic walls and health needs.

“We wanted to create an environment in an atmosphere where the community could connect with TidalHealth,” said Copeland. “To show that we care about the community, not just your medical needs, but we care about you as a person.”
