Harbor Day at the Docks this Saturday in West Ocean City
WEST OCEAN CITY, Md. – An event to celebrate maritime history this Saturday called Harbor Day at the Docks.
The free family-friendly event will take place along Sunset Avenue in the West Ocean City commercial harbor. Expect food contests, touch tanks, fisherman displays, and vendors.
Worcester County Parks & Recs Special Event Manager, Kyle Jarmon, said the event will recognize local watermen and the commercial fishing industry.
“The number 1 industry here has to be seafood, and those guys are the ones going out day in and day out to bring that back to us. So it’s very important to keep that tradition going, always to recognize it, and to build on that,” said Jarmon. “Free event to get the families involved, a different way to get the kids out and about, and see the different things that take place in our area.
Harbor Day at the Docks is sponsored by Worcester County Recreation and Parks. The event starts from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
