Fruitland Closing East Main St on Halloween
FRUITLAND, Md. – The Fruitland Police Department is alerting residents that East Main Street will be closed to all traffic while Halloween events occur in the area of Nina Lane, starting at 5:00 p.m.
Traffic will be directed around East Main Street via North Division Street, Saint Lukes Road, and Moonglow Road. Due to an increased amount of vehicle traffic, drivers are advised to plan accordingly and expect delays. Additionally, drivers should yield to children on foot that may be trick-or-treating, and use extreme caution so that everyone may safely celebrate Halloween.
Parking on East Main Street will be strictly prohibited for the entirety of the day, and vehicles will be towed at the owners’ expense. Police say this ensures that large emergency vehicles can navigate the area should there be an emergency.
The roadway will remain open for traffic only to residents that can provide a valid proof of address. If an individual requires access to Nina Lane or surrounding roads within the Eastfields subdivision, and is not a resident, then they will need to be at their desired location prior to 5:00 p.m.
Parking for the events will be in designated lots in the area.
