Foodie Friday: Likety Splitz Ice Cream

SEAFORD, Del. – There’s nothing better than a sweet treat, or two, or three.

Shelly McCarron, owner of Lickety Splitz Ice Cream in Seaford, let her creativity shine when creating her menu. On it you’ll find out-of-this-world shakes, super sweet sundaes and desserts you can’t find anywhere else.

“I can’t wait to dip into all of it. Instead of a fork, this time, we have a spoon, because we’re going to be dipping into ice cream,” said WMDT’s Leila Weah.

Leila first started by trying their classic banana split.

“This boat is amazing. I can’t describe to you; I don’t really think the camera does it justice. It’s so colorful, it just makes me feel like I’m a little kid again,” Leila said.

“I feel like I’ve just ascended to sweet paradise. I’ve been saying this the whole Foodie Friday season of the summer, if you don’t know by now, I have a sweet tooth, a really, really bad sweet tooth. My parents would always get on me for it as a kid, but now I get to try food for my job, and I get to try delicious sweets, like this,” she added.

Leila moved on to the next sweet treat.

“They have dairy free ice cream here, so if you guys have lactose intolerance, your tummy just can’t handle the dairy, Ms. Shelly has got you,” she said. “We have the cookie dough flavor, a scoop of this, let’s see how it stacks up to traditional ice cream.”

“You can’t tell the difference– it’s just as silky and flavorful as traditional ice cream with milk in it,” Leila said. “You can taste that cookie dough flavor all throughout, nothing different. I would say this is ice cream’s sister, maybe not a twin, but it’s a sister to ice cream.”
