DSP Investigating Early Morning Car Shooting in Laurel

LAUREL, Del. – Delaware State Police (DSP) are investigating a shooting that took place early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Oct. 5, troopers responded to reports of a shooting on US-13, between Delmar and Laurel. A preliminary investigation revealed a blue Toyota Camry was traveling northbound in the left lane on US-13, while a silver Chrysler sedan was traveling next to it in the right lane. While both vehicles were in motion, the suspect, a black male, from the Chrysler fired several rounds toward the passenger side of the Toyota and fled towards Scarborough Lane.

While the Toyota was hit by the gunfire, no injuries were reported.

DSP Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information regarding this case to contact Detective L.
