Dover Police Arrest Georgia Woman for a Shooting
DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department has arrested a woman from Georgia in connection with a shooting that occurred on Thursday morning.
At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 2, police responded to a parking lot in the 600 block of Bay Road following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers contacted the victims on the scene.
A preliminary investigation found that a suspect, identified as 37-year-old Latasha Bryant, got into an argument over property with the victims. During the argument, Bryant fired a handgun at the victims and proceeded to flee in a Jeep Wagoneer. No injuries were reported in this incident.
Officers learned that Bryant was possibly headed to Georgia after fleeing. Later that afternoon, Bryant was stopped by the Virginia State Police on I-95 near Richmond, Virginia. She was taken into custody without incident.
Bryant is being held in Virginia pending extradition on two counts of reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
