Dorchester Co. Health Dept. Holding Drug Take Back

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – If you have expired medications, a drug take back is planned soon for Dorchester County.

The Dorchester County Health Department is taking part in National Prescription Take Back Day on October 25th.

People with expired medications can drop off anonymously at several law enforcement locations across the county.

But new this year is a means of self-disposal, geared towards those who can’t make it to one of these locations easily.

“We think it’s essential that we are able to provide these items for people who don’t have the resources to get to a drop box. If they are walking in and, you know, are closer to the health department, they could walk to us rather than walking to out to the Cambridge Police Department,” says Health Department Public Information Officer, John Griep.

Drop boxes are located at the Cambridge Police Station (8 Washington Street, Cambridge) The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Ofice (829 Fieldcrest Road) and the Hurlock Police Department (200 Nealson St. Hurlock).
